Third QUARTER Board Meeting

Members,
It is my pleasure to send out this notice for the MWO District’s third quarterly meeting being held at Camp Heidelberg, 2001 Kressler Road, Waterloo on Saturday, May 11th, 2024. Registration will begin at 830, the business agenda will begin at 915 and we expect the agenda to be complete by 330pm.
This is a very special meeting for two reasons.
First, we will be holding the District Oratorical Contest between 100 pm and 215 pm. We will also hear from the Essay contest winner. Your support of these guests is crucial to the success of this meeting.
We will also have several Optimist dignitaries in the house including VP Tom Kendo and his wife Jennifer as well as three of my fellow Region #1 Governors, Tom Kennedy and his wife Connie from Ohio, Glen Stewart and his wife Linda from Southwestern Ontario and Lori Engel from New York.
The cost of registration remains at $5 per person with a $20 cap on members from any individual club. First time attendees are free. The meal is also capped at $15 with the District picking up the rest.
This is a reminder to clubs bringing their Oratorical winner, to ensure that you register the speakers and any family members that are attending. The District will pay for the speakers’ lunches but the meal for parents and other guests must be paid for by them or the clubs. We need their names and the numbers attending to ensure that we have enough food for those in attendance.
Please get your registration form into Anne Van Neikerk (avn6.avn@gmail.com) by May 1 if possible. Your assistance is appreciated.
And as one more reminder, our service project is the collection of children’s toys with the Kitchener Southwest club. These toys will be distributed to children in need.
