Second QUARTER Board Meeting

February 24, 2024

Registration will open at 8:30 am and the meeting will begin at 9:15am.

We have an exciting guest speaker, Special Olympian Sean Hughes from Special Olympics. He will be telling us about his journey as a medalist swimmer in the organization as well as the Spring Ontario Games which are coming to the Kitchener-Waterloo area in May.

You will note from a look at the agenda that the awards for the 2022-2023 Optimist year will take place in the afternoon session. We have several clubs and individuals who are being recognized by Optimist International and by our District. We hope for a large crowd to cheer them on.

I hope you will register members of your club to attend.  Please note that registration has been reduced to $5 per person but we will cap that cost at a maximum of $20 per club.  Bring as many members from your club as you want and pay only $20 total.

The district is also subsidizing the cost of the meal by $10 per person.  The cost to members is only $15 per person for a wonderful roast beef lunch catered by the Wilmot Optimist Club.

Community Service Project

Optimist Past Governor Dianne is working with the New Dundee Optimist Club’s President Rick Berry to prepare a District community service project.

Please bring non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, or even a cheque to the meeting.

All donations will be taken to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre by the New Dundee club.  Cheques may be made out directly to the centre and can be mailed in advance or brought to the meeting. Join us at the New Dundee Community Centre located at

1028 Queen Street in New Dundee

Registration and refreshments begin at 830 am and our meeting starts at 915.
